Bharti Airtel’s subscriber base crosses 100 million mark

Bharti Airtel’s subscriber base has crossed 100 million mark.  In the process, it has become 3rd largest single country mobile services operator and also 6th largest single country integrated telecom operator in the World. It crossed 25 million subscribers in July 2006, but doubled the same to 50 million by October 2008 and touched 75 million mark in August 2008, and now has crossed 100 million mark by May 2009.

 

In the process, it has become one of the fastest growing telecom service company in the World.  The company indicated that about 60% of its customer additions come from rural areas.  It has already set up 14000 Airtel service centres for rural customers, which will be increased to 1 lakh centres across the country by March 2010.
