Tata Steel gains as its sales increase 10% in Q2FY16

Tata Steel is currently trading at Rs. 255.05, up by 4.30 points or 1.71% from its previous closing of Rs. 250.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 254.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 255.90 and Rs. 253.75 respectively. So far 38,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 495.30 on 03-Nov-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 200.00 on 29-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 255.90 and Rs. 214.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 24,770.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 31.35% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 41.11% and 25.56% respectively.

Tata Steel has reported 9.52% rise in sales to 2.3 million tonne (mt) in the second quarter ended September 30, 2015 as compared to 2.1 mt sold in previous corresponding period. For the half year ended September 30, 2015, the company has sold 4.4 mt of saleable steel, which is 4.76% higher compared to 4.2 mt sold in H1 last year.

The company has produced 2.4 mt of saleable steel in Q2 FY16, a 9.09% rise over 2.2 mt in a statement Q2 FY15. For the half yearly period April- September 2015, the company has produced 4.6 mt of saleable steel, which is 4.55% higher compared to 4.4 mt produced in the same period last year.
