Bartronics India Limited, a leading service provider of end-to-end solutions in identification technology, has bagged “Aapke Dwar”, a prestigious project of Delhi Municipal Corporation to set up 2,000 G2C kiosks in the municipal limits of the national capital. The project, to be operated on built-operate-transfer model is for a period of nine years.
The company estimates that the revenues from the project would be in excess of Rs 5000 crore over the nine-year period considering the existing revenue models. It is expected that the kiosk infrastructure shall be used to generate further revenue through other innovative means.
Besides transactional revenue, Bartronics also gets the rights to the advertisement revenues that would emanate due to the physical location of the kiosks and leveraging the network of kiosks. Already a number of companies in the private sector have expressed their interest to utilize the kiosk infrastructure for use as the “last mile” access to the consumer or simply to use the kiosk for product/service promotion.
A slew of facilities would be provided to Delhi citizens through these kiosks, located near their workplace and livelihood. Information services like directory, yellow pages and download services will be made available besides government services including certifications and licenses and tax payments would be enabled. Commercial services like utility bill payments; air, train, bus and cinema ticketing are also to be provided.
Bartronics India Limited will be using multiple technologies to implement the project and will setup and create a data bank of local consumers, service providers, businesses etc. A complex combination of almost all of the Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) technologies will be brought into use for this purpose. Apart from Bar Coding, which is expected to be used extensively for identification of documents and materials, RFID is likely to be used for the purposes of automatic billing of materials.
Bartronics has been executing large-scale projects in the areas of e-governance and related businesses like Bhamashah Project in Rajasthan, Rashtriya Swasthya Beema Yojana (RSBY) project in Bihar and Orissa and Sudarshanam Scheme at Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam.
