The Schedule commercial banks' loan in the fortnight ended October 16 2015 increased by 9.54 per cent to Rs 67,83,127 crore against Rs 61,92,158 crore in the same period last year, according to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data. Moreover, the advances grew by 9.45 per cent at Rs 68, 30,245 crore in the previous fortnight from Rs 62, 40,256 crore in the same period last year.
According to RBI data, the deposits of the Schedule commercial banks rose by 11.17 per cent to Rs 90,73,325 crore as against Rs 81,61,169 crore in the reporting period same period last year. Demand deposits were up 9.28 per cent and stood at 8,02,320 crore from Rs 7, 34,127 crore same period last year.
Besides, the time deposits grew 11.36 per cent to Rs 82,71,007 crore from Rs 74,27,042 crore in the same period last year. The food credit outstanding as on 16th Oct 2015 for schedule Commercial Banks was Rs 94,676 crore as compared to Rs 99,919 crore same period last year.
