Asian equity benchmarks are trading up in the early deals on Tuesday following the overnight rally on Wall Street as well as the positive cues from European markets, though the hangover from China's slowing growth still lingered. The markets in Japan are closed for the Culture Day holiday. Among the other Asian markets, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, Shanghai, South Korea, and Malaysia are up with modest gains.
Hang Seng added 306.13 points or 1.37% to 22,676.17, KOSPI Index gained 9.91 points or 0.49% to 2,045.15, Shanghai Composite strengthen 0.58 points or 0.02% to 3,325.67, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI jumped 7.06 points or 0.42% to 1,671.13, Jakarta Composite spurt 69.26 points or 1.55% to 4,534.22, Straits Times increased 31.62 points or 1.06% to 3,006.03, and Taiwan Weighted was up by 98.95 points or 1.15% to 8,713.72.
