Haryana state has procured more than 47.94 lakh tonnes (LT) of paddy till November 5 during this current kharif season as compared to 33.94 LT during the corresponding period last year. Of the total arrival, more than 42.45 LT of paddy was leviable and 5.48 LT paddy was non-leviable.
The government procurement agencies have purchased more than 40.25 LT paddy while millers and dealers have purchased 7.69 LT. The district of Karnal was leading in paddy arrivals at 10.03 lakh tonnes.
The state government has advised the farmers to clean and dry their harvest properly before bringing them to the market so that they do not have to face any problems in storage due to high moisture content.
