Coal India surges on plan of establishing washery in Jharkhand

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 337.00, up by 7.90 points or 2.40% from its previous closing of Rs. 329.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 330.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 338.25 and Rs. 329.60 respectively. So far 356234 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 447.25 on 05-Aug-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 300.75 on 29-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 344.70 and Rs. 323.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 212514.08 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 79.65% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.48% and 2.87% respectively.

Shares of Coal India came into jubilant mood after the report that the company invited bids from international companies in order to establish a washery in Jharkand. The move will benefit its customers including power plants with high quality coal. The washery would be set up under build-operate-maintain (BOT) model.
