Coal India strengthens as its arm plans Rs 6,280 crore capital investment till 2020

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 337.80, up by 5.60 points or 1.69% from its previous closing of Rs 332.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 333.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 339.35 and Rs. 332.10 respectively. So far 35554 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 447.25 on 05-Aug-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 300.75 on 29-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 341.40 and Rs. 326.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 213556.28 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 79.65% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.48% and 2.87% respectively.

Coal India’s arm -- Western Coalfields (WCL) -- has finalised a capital investment plan of Rs 6,280 crore till 2019-20 in a phased manner. Of total, the company will invest Rs 3,486 crore on land acquisition, while Rs 2,032 crore will be invested on installation of plant and machinery. The company has also marked another Rs 242 crore for exploration.

Moreover, the company will spend about Rs 850 crore on land acquisition during the current fiscal for opening new mines and Rs 350 crore on plant and machinery this year.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
