Jagran Prakashan (JPL) has seen its group company Jagran Media Network Investment (JMNIPL) increasing its stake in the company. JMNIPL has acquired 5.74% stake in JPL increasing its total holding to 11.48%. JMNIPL has acquired 18,146,355 shares of JPL.
The transaction was carried out as an inter se transfer block deal and after the deal, JMNIPL holds 3,16,267,857 shares in JPL of Rs 2 each.
Recently, in line with the expansion plan, Jagran Prakashan had launched a Punjabi newspaper in gurmukhi 'Punjabi Jagran' on June 18, 2011. The newspaper would be circulated across the districts of Punjab. The newspaper was also set to enter other markets of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Bihar soon.
Jagran Prakashan is a leading media house of India which publishes Dainik Jagran, India’s largest read daily. It has also been voted as the most credible and trusted newspaper in India.
