Bharti Airtel to invest Rs 60,000 crore over next 3 years in its network transformation programme

Bharti Airtel, the country's largest telecom operator, will invest Rs 60,000 crore over the next three years to its network transformation programme called 'Project Leap'. As part of this programme, the company will deploy over 70,000 base stations in this financial year making it the largest deployment in a single year since its perception. By March 2016, over 60% of the company’s network will be mobile broadband enabled. In three years, the company will deploy 1.60 lakh base stations. The programme is aimed at improving network quality and delivering the best customer experience.
