IIFL Holdings gains after Fairfax India raises stake

IIFL Holdings is currently trading at Rs. 195.25, up by 2.20 points or 1.14% from its previous closing of Rs. 193.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 197.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 197.00 and Rs. 195.00 respectively. So far 456 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 225.60 on 14-Jul-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 147.20 on 19-Dec-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 211.00 and Rs. 192.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 6154.38 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 29.39% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 38.30% and 32.31% respectively.

Fairfax India Holdings, owned by Canadian billionaire Prem Watsa, has raised its stake in IIFL Holdings to almost 31%, making it the biggest shareholder of the financial services firm. Fairfax acquired 21.85 per cent in IIFL through a recent voluntary Rs 1,340 crore open offer.

Promoters of IIFL Holding, led by Nirmal Jain, held 29.39% stake in the company as on September 31, 2015. Fairfax held 8.8 per cent equity stake in IIFL prior to the open offer. The firm also held approximately 5.24 per cent in IIFL through derivative instruments.

IIFL (India Infoline group), comprising the holding company, IIFL Holdings and its subsidiaries, is one of the leading players in the Indian financial services space.
