Wipro’s FMCG arm - Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting, complementing its range of commercial and institutional LED lighting has launched LED products for the domestic segment. The company has launched a 5.5w LED bulb which replaces a 40w incandescent lamp and down lighters in the range of 1w to 10w. The Wipro LED lights are designed and tested extensively for Indian conditions.
LED lamps offer substantial saving over conventional incandescent lamps and CFL lights. The LED lights help save more than 85 percent energy compared to an incandescent bulb. The LED lights have a life span of 50,000 hours compared to 1,000 hours of an incandescent GLS. It is highly energy efficient, long lasting and environmentally friendly as it has zero mercury and no UV radiation.
Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting, (WCCLG) has a profitable presence in the branded retail market of toilet soaps, hair care soaps, baby care products and lighting products. It is also a leader in institutional lighting in specified segments like software, pharma and retail.
