Asian markets are exhibiting mixed trend in the early deals on Tuesday, amid thin volumes on caution over the continued weakness in crude oil prices. Meanwhile, the Japanese market is marginally lower in choppy trades, amid a lack of fresh trading cues and ahead of a national holiday on Wednesday for the emperor's birthday. Among the other Asian markets, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Malaysia and are up with modest gains, while Taiwan, Shanghai and South Korea are marginally lower.
Nikkei 225 slipped 1.60 points or 0.01% to 18,914.42, Taiwan Weighted dipped 4.64 points or 0.06% to 8,277.53, Hang Seng dropped 1.09 points or 0.01% to 21,790.59, and Shanghai Composite was down by 11.93 points or 0.33% to 3,630.54.
On the flip side, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI added 5.42 points or 0.33% to 1,634.51, Jakarta Composite increased 9.30 points or 0.21% to 4,499.98, KOSPI Index surged 7.10 points or 0.36% to 1,988.29, and Straits Times was up by 7.91 points or 0.28% to 2,853.46.
