Piramal Enterprises strengthens on acquiring five brands for its consumer products business

Piramal Enterprises is currently trading at Rs. 950.60, up by 7.35 points or 0.78% from its previous closing of Rs. 943.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 954.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 959.60 and Rs. 950.10 respectively. So far 3,575 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1043.00 on 20-May-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 797.60 on 23-Dec-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 959.60 and Rs. 930.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 16,403.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.82% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 30.91% and 16.27% respectively.

Piramal Enterprises’ (PEL) Consumer Products Division has acquired five trademark rights for India from Organon India (OIPL) and MSD BV. for a consideration of Rs 92 crore. The acquisition includes mainly the brands Naturolax, Lactobacil and Farizym, which PEL intends to continue in the Gastro-Intestinal (GI) segment through the over-the-counter (OTC) route. The brands hold a rich legacy in India and have a high consumer pull.
