National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO), India’s largest producer and exporter of alumina and aluminium, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India, to increase its output of metals and electric power in the next financial year.
In the MoU, NALCO has projected to increase bauxite production to 63 lakh tonnes and aims to achieve 21 lakh tonnes of alumina output target from its Damanjodi facility during 2011-12. Metal production has been projected at 4.6 lakh tonnes and power generation is seen at 7,518 million units from its 1,200 MW captive power plant at Angul. crackcrack
