CWC to add 1.66 LT of additional storage capacity

Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) is planning to add 1.66 lakh tonnes (LT) of additional storage capacity with a financial outlay of Rs 181 crore this fiscal. The state-run corporation has given Rs 20.21 crore as dividend to the Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan for 2014-15.

The corporation had achieved record turnover of Rs 1,562 crore during 2014-15 as against of Rs 1,528 crore achieved in the preceding fiscal. It also achieved highest over gross operation margin of Rs 209 crore, a growth of 19%, compared with Rs 176 crore during 2013-14.

Further, the corporation plans to commence operations of Private Freight Terminals at its rail-based facilities at Bamanheri in Uttar Pradesh and Nabha in Punjab.
