Coal India moves up as its arm unveils mobile app for live monitoring of field operations

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 334.45, up by 0.55 points or 0.16% from its previous closing of Rs. 333.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 333.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 337.00 and Rs. 330.35 respectively. So far 48592 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 447.25 on 05-Aug-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 300.75 on 29-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 337.00 and Rs. 319.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 211282.39 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 79.65% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.48% and 2.87% respectively.

Coal India’s subsidiary Mahanadi Coalfields (MCL) has unveiled a mobile app for live monitoring of field operations, as a part of vigilance initiative in MCL. The new application is capable of distant monitoring of coal mining and dispatch operations through smartphones. 

MCL targets 150 million tonnes coal production and dispatch during the current financial year and has already dispatched over 100 MT of the dry fuel, which includes power generation plants in various states.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
