Export of soybean meal from India has touched a historical low at 61,556 tons in the first nine months of 2015-16 down 86% from 4,44,736 tons in the same period last year, as per the data of Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA)
The soyabean meal exports had touched a peak of 20,10,788 tons in 2013-14. The sharp decline in the exports is attributed to non-competitive price of India-made oilmeals. The export of Soybean meal during the month of December, 2015 stood at 5,667 tons as compared to 1,94,012 tons in December, 2014 showing a steep fall of 97% over the same period of last year.
