Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation slips on reporting 40% fall in Q3 net profit

Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 59.40, down by 1.50 points or 2.46% from its previous closing of Rs. 60.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 60.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 60.60 and Rs. 59.15 respectively. So far 21,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 132.00 on 04-Mar-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 59.15 on 10-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 63.40 and Rs. 59.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1,888.92 crore.

The company has reported 39.86% fall in its net profit at Rs 47.92 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2015 as compared to Rs 79.68 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The company’s total income has decreased by 16.34% to Rs 299.20 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 357.64 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

GMDC is engaged in business of mining and mineral processing. The company manufactures two grades of fluorspar namely acid and metallurgical. It owns two bauxite reserve located at Kutch and Jamnagar.
