Dabur enters Sri Lanka, sets up Beverage unit

Dabur India announced its entry into Sri Lanka with the setting up of an overseas subsidiary – Dabur Lanka. The new entity has signed an agreement with the Sri Lanka board of investment for the same and will invest $15 million (Rs 70 crore) to set up a export oriented manufacturing facility. The plant will manufacture fruit-based beverages in Gampaha, north of Colombo and will have a capacity to produce 2.8 lakh cases of fruit-based beverages every month. The plant is expected to kick off operations in August-September ’12. The company has manufacturing facilities in Nepal, Bangladesh, Dubai, Nigeria and Egypt.
