Bharat Forge leads the BSE “Auto” space

Bharat Forge is currently trading at Rs. 329.45, up by 6.80 points or 2.11% from its previous closing of Rs. 322.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 324.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 336.90 and Rs. 321.65 respectively. So far 138674 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 370.50 on 06-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs 231.00 on 20-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 333.50 and Rs 307.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 7724.12 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.06 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.07% and 29.88% respectively.

Apollo Tyres up by 1.25%, Mahindra & Mahindra up by 1.90%, Maruti Suzuki up by 0.62% and Ashok Leyland up by 0.55% were the other gainers of BSE “Auto” space.

Finance Minister during the Union Budget 2012-13, proposed to hike the excise duty on large cars from 22 per cent to 24 per cent, Cars that attract a mixed rate of duty of 22 per cent + Rs 15000 per vehicle, duty to increase and switch over to an ad valorem rate of 27 per cent. Meanwhile,  the proposal of building of commercial vehicle bodies to have duty of an ad valorem rate of 3 per cent instead of Rs 10000 charged earlier, was also announced.
