India's January natural Rubber imports rise 21% Y/Y

India's natural rubber imports in January rose nearly 21% from a year ago to 35,174 tons as local production fell, according to the data of the state-run Rubber Board. Natural Rubber production during the month fell 3.4% from a year ago to 56,000 tons.

In January, local natural rubber prices plunged to the lowest level in 6-1/2 years, prompting farmers to reduce tapping. India imports natural rubber from Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.
