Lupin gains on plan to make significant investments in Japan

Lupin is currently trading at Rs. 1791.85, up by 29.70 points or 1.69% from its previous closing of Rs. 1762.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1765.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1798.00 and Rs. 1765.05 respectively. So far 11005 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2127.00 on 06-Oct-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1589.40 on 14-May-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1820.00 and Rs. 1733.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 80649.98 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 46.53%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 43.56% and 9.92% respectively.

Lupin is planning to make significant investments in Japan, the second biggest pharmaceutical market in the world. The company is setting up a new plant in Japan and investing Rs 100 crore in a manufacturing facility in India which will cater to the Japanese market.

Lupin, which entered Japan through acquisitions, reported 9% year-on-year growth in its business in the country in the third quarter of financial year 2016.
