The government has permitted export of additional 723 tons of raw cane sugar to the US under the tariff rate quota (TRQ) up to September 30, 2016, which entitles shipments to low tariff rates, as per the data compiled by Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). DGFT, an arm of the Commerce Ministry, deals with export and import related activities.
