A Delhi Court granted bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders in a criminal defamation case filed by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The AAP leaders have to furnish a bond of Rs 20,000 and same amount of surety.

The court has fixed May 19 as the date for hearing on argument on framing of charges against them. The court summoned them for the alleged offences under Sections 500 (criminal defamation) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Jaitley had alleged that Kejriwal and the five AAP leaders had made defamatory statements against him and his family. Jaitley had said Kejriwal's statement that he received money when the Ferozshah Kotla Stadium was constructed during his tenure as the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) chief, was false.
