Tamilnadu Telecommunications (TNTELE) has received the ‘Land Delivery Receipt’ from Tamilnadu State Government Authorities towards transfer of title of the land, in the name of Tamilnadu Telecommunications, covering land area of 2.98 hectares in the CMDA Industrial Complex in Tamilnadu, where the present factory of the company is situated. TNTELE already owns 0.99 hectares allotted by Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) in the same locality.
At present TNTELE is having manufacturing facility of Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) in Maraimalainagar, Tamilnadu. The commercial production has commenced in the year 2000 and in the past 12 years TNTELE has produced various types of OFC and supplied to various prestigious clients including BSNL, MTNL, VSNL, Naval Science, Indian Railways, PGCIL, TATA etc., In addition it has exported its cables to various countries including Kuwait, Nepal, Algeria etc.,
Out of the total 3.97 hectares of land, around 2.38 hectares are vacant land and the company is exploring the possibilities of diversification and is in talks with other telecom companies for setting up of new plants for diversification of its product line. The company is also exploring expansion of the existing facility.
Tamilnadu Telecommunications (TTL) incorporated in 1988, as joint venture of Telecommunications Consultants India (TCIL), a PSU fully owned by the Ministry of Communications, Government of India, and Tamilnadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), under the Government of Tamil Nadu.
