India's Natural Rubber imports rise 2.8% in FY16

India's natural rubber imports in fiscal year 2015/16 rose 2.8% from a year earlier to 454,303 tons, due to a decline in domestic production, as per the data of the Rubber Board.

Natural rubber production fell 12.7% to 563,000 tons, while consumption eased 3.3% to 987,540 tons in the year ended March 31. India imports natural rubber mainly from Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand.
