India's domestic Crude Oil, Natural Gas output down in March

Domestic production of crude oil and natural gas fell sharply in March 2016, according to the data compiled by the Ministry for Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Crude oil production in the country fell 5.09% to 3.062 million tonnes as compared to 3.226 million tonnes in the same month last year, while natural gas production fell 10.48% to 2.539 billion cubic metres as compared to 2.837 billion cubic metres in the same month of previous year.

Despite the fall in domestic crude oil production, local refineries processed more crude during the month. Crude throughput at domestic refineries was 10.81% higher during March at 21.383 million tonnes as compared to 19.296 million tonnes in the same month last year.
