Highlighting the initiatives taken by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government after coming to power last year, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the Centre by comparing the Delhi and Gujarat models of development. Speaking at the AAP's fifth National Council meet, Kejriwal said the country was cheated in the name of 'Gujarat model', while asserting that the schools and healthcare facilities in the BJP ruled western state were in 'bad shape'.

Kejriwal said that stories of the Gujarat model were projected during the Lok Sabha elections. They also went to schools and hospitals in Gujarat, the schools are in bad shape, healthcare is in bad shape. Everyone knows now what Gujarat model is. The people have been cheated in the name of Gujarat model. He further added that ‘there is a Delhi model of governance and then Gujarat model. We invite everyone to compare the two models. See our Mohalla Clinics, the works we are doing’. Reminding the party workers that the AAP came into existence to change the system and not for political gains, the Delhi CM said that they would fight the elections to win so that they can form a government and bring about a positive change.

He also attempted to corner the BJP over Bharat Mata ki Jai row and the issue at Srinagar's National institute of Technology (NIT), saying the Centre was trying to oppress the people by means of force. He said ‘See what they are doing in Kashmir. During Anna aandolan (Anna Hazare's Anti-Corruption movement), people chanted 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' from heart. They (BJP) are doing Gundagardi... Gundagardi ke bal pe 'Bharat Mata ki Jai’ bulwana chahte hain (they are forcing people to raise slogan using hooliganism). Everyone is angry with them - the students, farmers, jewellers'. The AAP's National Council met for the fifth time today since its formation. The party is set to restructure its national executive after the seats were left vacant following the expulsion of Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan.
