NCDEX reports 17% jump in turnover to Rs 70,848.06 crore in April 2016

National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange’s (NCDEX) futures segment has registered a 17% growth in turnover at Rs 70,848.06 crore in April 2016. The total turnover for April 2016, reached Rs 70,848.06 crore as compared to Rs 60,416.65 crore in March this year. The exchange has facilitated delivery of 29,293 tonnes of goods for the April 2016 expiry contracts.

Open Interest in futures segment as of April 29, 2016, was Rs 5,392.10 crore, whereas the average open interest for the month stood at Rs 5,173 crore as compared to Rs 4,863 crore for the month of March 2016 which is an increase of around 6.5%.

The top three traded commodities were refined soy oil (Rs 14,944.34 crore) with over 25% rise month over month(m-o-m), rapeseed mustard seed (Rs 11,949.25 crore) with over 36% rise m-o-m, and soybean (Rs 9,371.83 crore) with over 26% rise m-o-m.
