MRPL reports 16% rise in Q4 net profit

Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals (MRPL) has reported results for the fourth quarter and year ended March 31, 2016.

The company has posted a rise of 15.70% in its net profit at Rs 1353.35 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016 as compared to Rs 1169.70 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company has decreased by 16.93% at Rs 9532.32 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 11474.43 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015.

For the year ended March 31, 2016, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 1148.16 crore as compared to a net loss of Rs 1712.23 crore for the same period in the previous year. Total income of company declined by 30.49% at Rs 40504.56 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 58267.52 crore for the period ended March 31, 2015.   

For the year ended March 31, 2016, on the consolidated basis, the company has posted a net profit after taxes, minority interest and share of profit of associates of Rs 709.56 crore as compared to a net loss of Rs 1803.29 crore for the same period in the previous year. Total income of company has decreased by 30.22% at Rs 40619.37 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 58207.03 crore for the period ended March 31, 2015.
