Pfizer inks pact for sale of four products to Piramal Enterprises

Pfizer has signed an agreement for the sale of four products marketed by its Global Established Products business in India. The brands Neko Soap, Sloans, Ferradol and Waterburys Compound will be divested to Piramal Enterprises, for a consideration of Rs 110 crore, subject to adjustments for inventory on closing. The closure of this transaction is subject to obtaining requisite regulatory approvals and fulfillment of certain conditions by the parties.

Pfizer’s portfolio includes medicines, vaccines and well-known consumer health care brands. This enables the company to serve patients and physicians through a wide range of products in therapy areas most vital to public health. The company’s focus will remain on building and strengthening its presence in these segments. Nine of its top 10 brands are ranked number one in their respective categories and it will also continue to build on these power brands.

Pfizer has produced innovative breakthroughs in a wide range of research areas, including depression, erectile dysfunction, high cholesterol, HIV infection, hypertension, bacterial infections and systemic fungal infections.
