India’s vegetable oil imports rise 12% in April

India imported 1.24 million tons of vegetable oil in April, 12% higher than in the same period a year earlier, as per the data compiled by the Solvent Extractors’ Association of India (SEA).

India, the world’s largest buyer of vegetable oils, shipped in 7.56 million tons of vegetable oil during the first six months of the oil year that started November 1, a rise of 17% over the same period of the previous year.
