Tata Steel gains as its UK arm concludes sale of Long Products Europe business

Tata Steel is currently trading at Rs. 336.65, up by 2.20 points or 0.66% from its previous closing of Rs. 334.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 335.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 338.05 and Rs. 335.50 respectively. So far 49,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 364.15 on 21-Apr-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 200.00 on 29-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 338.05 and Rs. 320.45 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 32,637.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 31.35% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 39.88% and 26.45% respectively.

Tata Steel’s UK operation - Tata Steel UK has completed the sale of its Long Products Europe business to Greybull Capital LLP. The sale follows an accelerated process of negotiations between Tata Steel UK and Greybull Capital to achieve this outcome.

During the last twelve months, the Long Products Europe business has implemented a transformation plan including a portfolio restructuring of assets, underpinned by committed support from employees and their trade unions. This has focused the business on higher-value markets supported by a more competitive cost base.
