Physical Rubber prices showed improvement on Thursday on supply concerns owing to widespread rains and covering purchases at lower levels. Spot prices for RSS-4 variety jumped to 134.50/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 134/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety climbed to 130 / kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 129.50/ kg.
In the futures market, contract of June delivery declined to Rs 132.49 compared to its previous closing of Rs 135.25, while July delivery closed at Rs 132.57 compared to its previous close of Rs 135.60 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
