Alstom T&D India bags two orders worth Rs 202 crore

Alstom T&D India, a GE Group Company, has bagged contracts worth over Rs 202 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) for execution of two projects in Madhya Pradesh. Both the projects will facilitate evacuation of power and add to availability of electricity in the central region. Under the first contract, worth Rs 119.7 crore, Alstom will set up a 400/220kV AIS substation at Rewa. The contract also includes the supply of three 500MVA power transformers and one 125MVAR shunt reactor at 400kV level. The substation will evacuate power from the 750MW solar park coming up at Rewa.

In the second contract, worth Rs 82.8 crore, the company will install, test and commission 16 shunt reactors of 110 MVAR, 765kV, 1-ph and two shunt reactors of 80 MVAR, 400 KV, 3-ph as part of Gadarwara Part (A) Transmission system project in Madhya Pradesh. The project will evacuate power from NTPC's 1600MW, Gadarwara Supercritical Thermal Power Station. The equipment for both the projects will be manufactured at company's facilities in India.

Alstom T&D India is part of Alstom Grid, a global player in electrical grids. The company’s India operations account for over 13% of overall revenues garnered by Alstom Grid’s global operations. Apart from India business, other major contributors are the operations in France, the US, Germany and China.
