Alstom T&D India successfully commissions 220Kv substation

Alstom T&D India has successfully commissioned a 220Kv substation. The substation will serve Reliance Infrastructure’s 40 MW solar photovoltaic plant located near Pokhran in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, North West India. The turnkey contract worth Rs 40 crore involves design and construction of the substation including control, protection, monitoring systems and completes civil works including land development at the plant.

The project, India’s largest photovoltaic solar power plant, will help to kick start large scale solar electricity generation in India, where solar energy potential is the highest in the world. Further, Alstom T&D India’s scope for the supply for this project includes power transformers, circuit breakers, capacity voltage transformers as well as substation automation control.

Areva T&D India is a leading player in the Power Transmission and Distribution business upto Extra High Voltage levels (765 kV) and is prepared to meet the demands for equipments and services even at Ultra High Voltage levels (1200 kV).
