Physical rubber prices turned steady on Monday; the trade remained sluggish on the first trading session of the new financial year as there were no fresh enquiries from the tyre sector. The domestic futures too weakened and weighed on the prices.
Spot prices for RSS-4 and RSS-5 variety remained unchanged at Rs 201/kg and Rs 199/kg respectively.
In the futures market the contract of RSS 4 for April delivery weakened to Rs 199.56 compared to its previous closing of Rs 200.96, while the contract for May delivery closed at Rs 204.80 compared to its previous closing of Rs 206.36 on National Multi Commodity Exchange.
