Alstom T&D India wins contract worth Rs 150 crore from PGCIL

Alstom T&D India has been awarded a contract worth around Rs 150 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL), the country's central transmission utility, for the supply, erection and commissioning of a 765 kV extra high voltage (EHV) substation at Aurangabad, in the Maharashtra state of western India.

With a population of more than one million people, Aurangabad is one, of the largest industrial districts of the Maharashtra State, providing energy to ten other districts. The substation will facilitate the safe and efficient transmission of electricity and will boost power transmission capacity to power deficit areas of the state. All the world-class 765 kV products for the substation will be delivered from the company’s manufacturing facilities located at Padappai and Pallavaram in Chennai, Hosur in Tamil Nadu and Noida.

Alstom T&D India has been selected to supply extra high voltage transmission equipments to 28 out of 47 projects for 765 kV substations in India.

Areva T&D India is a leading player in the Power Transmission and Distribution business upto Extra High Voltage levels (765 kV) and is prepared to meet the demands for equipments and services even at Ultra High Voltage levels (1200 kV).
