UltraTech Cement’s production for the month of March 2012 has surged 4.53% at 39.22 lakh million tonnes and dispatches soared 6.28% at 40.15 lakh million tonnes over March 2011.
For the April-March 2012 period, its cement production rose 3.16% at 396.51 lakh million tonnes as against 384.35 lakh million tonnes in the year-ago period. Dispatches during the period also increased by 3.50% at 397.56 lakh million tonnes in April-March 2012 as against 384.10 lakh million tonnes during the same period last year.
UltraTech manufactures and markets Ordinary Portland Cement, Portland Blast Furnace Slag Cement and Portland Pozzalana Cement. The company has 11 integrated plants, one white cement plant, one clinkerisation plant in UAE, 15 grinding units - 11 in India, 2 in UAE, one in Bahrain and Bangladesh each and five terminals, four in India and one in Sri Lanka.
