Tata Motors’ climbs up on reporting good sales numbers

Tata Motors is currently trading at Rs. 464.30, up by 10.45 points or 2.30% from its previous closing of Rs. 455.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 463.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 467.50 and Rs. 462.90 respectively. So far 1242687 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 489.60 on 23-Jun-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 266.00 on 11-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 474.80 and Rs. 454.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 134615.87 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.01%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 41.30% and 8.65% respectively.

 Tata Motors’ subsidiary -- Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has surpassed its previous half-year sales records in the first six months of 2016 , with Jaguar retailing 16,603 vehicles, up 68% on the same period in 2015 and Land Rover retailing 45,711 vehicles, up 10%.  JLR, the UK's leading manufacturer of premium luxury vehicles, reported its best ever UK half-year sales retailing 62,314 vehicles in the first six months of 2016, up 21% on the same period last year. One JLR vehicle has left a UK showroom every four minutes in 2016 so far.

Jaguar, the brand behind the innovative FeelWimbledon campaign, enjoyed its best UK June sales for more than a decade, retailing 2928 vehicles, up 34% on June. The brand’s impressive month was spearheaded by the Jaguar XE. Further, Land Rover retailed 5,805 vehicles in the UK in June, with the Range Rover Sport continuing to set the benchmark for performance in its sector. The luxurious SUV retailed 975 vehicles, an impressive 62% climb year-on-year.
