Dubbing Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's statement that the friendship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif is causing irreparable damage to the Kashmir cause as 'immature', defence expert Rahul Jalali said that the duo have tried to build better ties. He said that ‘I think this is a very immature statement from someone who professes to be the leader of a major political party in Pakistan. Bilawal Bhutto should measure his words. Because how will Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif's friendship damage Kashmir?’

He said one cannot attribute any sort of damage to Kashmir because of the friendship. He added that ‘I think the attempt in this case was to build better ties and in that sense also bring solace to Kashmir. I don't think you can attribute any sort of damage to Kashmir because of this friendship between Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’.

The PPP chairman has in a statement said that PM Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi have taken a similar stance over the killings in Kashmir. He accused PM Sharif of damaging the country's foreign policy by giving Modi a ‘certificate of friendship’, reports the Dawn. He also condemned the killing of innocent Kashmiris in India-occupied Kashmir and said that the Indian authorities were violating the rights of Kashmiri Muslims.
