Edelweiss Financial Services’ wholly owned subsidiary - Edelweiss General Insurance Company, has made an application to the Insurance Regulatory & Development Authority of India (IRDAI) pursuant to which the regulator has accepted the registration application form IRDA /R1, for setting up a General Insurance Company in India. This is the first step of regulatory clearances required for carrying on the business as general insurance company in India.

Edelweiss Financial Services is primarily engaged in the business of rendering merchant banking services. The company operates in two segments - agency business and holding company activities.
