Cennergi selects Suzlon turbines for 138 MW project bid in South Africa

Suzlon Group (Suzlon), the world’s fifth largest wind turbine manufacturer, has been selected as the preferred supplier by Cennergi for a 138 MW wind energy project currently under development in South Africa.

Cennergi has chosen to use 66 of Suzlon’s S97-2.1 MW turbines for the project, located in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. Suzlon will deliver the turbines under a full EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) agreement, if definitive agreements are reached.

Cennergi is an equal joint venture between South Africa’s Exxaro Resources (Exxaro) and The Tata Power Company (Tata Power), India’s largest private power utility.
