Ambuja Cements rises on receiving CCEA’s nod to acquire 24% stake in holding firm

Ambuja Cements is currently trading at Rs. 267.10, up by 4.90 points or 1.87% from its previous closing of Rs. 262.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 264.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 267.70 and Rs. 263.10 respectively. So far 1,00,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 267.70 on 21-Jul-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 185.00 on 29-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 267.70 and Rs. 258.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 41,497.74 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.28%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 39.29% and 10.43% respectively.

Ambuja Cements has received approval from the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) for its proposal to acquire 24 percent stake in its holding company Holcim (India) through Holderind Investment by way of subsequent reverse merger through a share swap.

The deal would entail an outflow of Rs 3,500 crore, and it would enable Lafarge Holcim group to create a linear corporate structure with Ambuja and ACC becoming parent and subsidiary, respectively.

Ambuja Cements is a part of a global conglomerate Holcim. The company has five integrated cement manufacturing plants and eight cement grinding units across the country.
