Tata Communications rings loud despite reporting marginal fall in Q1 consolidated net profit

Tata Communications is currently trading at Rs. 451.70, up by 18.45 points or 4.26% from its previous closing of Rs. 433.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 436.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 453.35 and Rs. 436.00 respectively. So far 58171 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 498.00 on 07-Jul-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 325.70 on 29-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 467.20 and Rs. 430.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 12853.50 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.99%, while institutions and non-institutions held 19.97% and 5.04% respectively.

Tata Communications has reported a rise of 59.31% in its net profit at Rs 204.33 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 128.26 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The company’s total income increased 10.43% to Rs 1398.82 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1266.65 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a marginal fall of 3.51% in its net profit after taxes, minority interest and share profit of associates at Rs 41.78 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 43.30 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 3.42% to Rs 5092.47 crore for quarter under review from Rs 5272.62 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015.
