Nalco surges on plans to set up nuclear power plant with NPCIL

National Aluminium is currently trading at Rs. 59.85, up by 0.80 points or 1.35% from its previous closing of Rs. 59.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 58.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 60.50 and Rs. 57.90 respectively. So far 42694 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 98.90 on 13-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 48.00 on 24-Nov-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 60.90 and Rs. 57.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 15476.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 87.15% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 9.13% and 3.73% respectively.

Nalco, state-owned aluminium major is likely to set up another nuclear power plant, in collaboration with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) after Kakarapar Atomic Power Station (KAPS) in Gujarat.

Both the company’s are already executing unit 3 and 4 of Kakarapar Atomic Power Station (KAPS) in Gujarat of 700 MW capacity each, which requires a total investment of about Rs 12,000 crore. The company is looking at three options to set up the plant at West Bengal, Odisha and Rajasthan. It is planning at 1,500 MW atomic power project with 49%stake.
