India’s Cashew export falls sharply in April -July 2016 by 24% in volume and 14% in value from that of the corresponding period last fiscal.
During the period, total shipments fell to 24,833 tons valued at Rs 1,400.74 crore from 32,780 tons valued at Rs 1,630.39 crore in the corresponding period last financial year, as per the data compiled by Cashew Export Promotion Council of India (CEPCI).
Raw cashew nuts (RCN) imports has shown substantial fall during the first four months of 2016-17. Imports fell by 40% to Rs 3,01,454 tons valued at Rs 3,152.23 crore from 5,03,854 tons valued at Rs 4,049.54 crore.
