RCom rises on plan to offer voice calling over LTE by year end

Reliance Communications (RCom) is currently trading at Rs. 54.25, up by 0.30 points or 0.56% from its previous closing of Rs. 53.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 53.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 54.65 and Rs. 53.80 respectively. So far 3,81,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 91.80 on 01-Jan-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 45.55 on 24-Jun-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 55.00 and Rs. 51.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 13,490.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 59.05%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.73% and 14.18% respectively.

Reliance Communications (RCom) is all set to offer voice calling over LTE (VoLTE) by the end of 2016, giving users another option to make voice calls. In this regards, the company is holding talks with major network providers to finalize a player within a fortnight. The company has inked spectrum trading and sharing agreements with Reliance Jio Infocomm and is in talks with Swedish network major Ericsson, Finnish network provider Nokia, besides Chinese competitors Huawei and ZTE, for executing the contract.

Consumers on RCom’s network that have VoLTE supporting phones will be able to make use of this service, when it goes live.
