Trent surges despite Trent restricting further FII buying

Trent is currently trading at Rs. 2218.00, up by 22.70 points or 1.03% from its previous closing of Rs. 2195.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2199.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2218.00 and Rs. 2189.05 respectively. So far 925 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2218.00 on 02-Sep-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1160.00 on 10-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2218.00 and Rs. 2012.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 7307.64 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 32.61%, while institutions and non-institutions held 42.99% and 24.40% respectively.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has notified that the foreign shareholding through Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs)/Registered Foreign Portfolios Investors (RFPIs) in Trent has crossed the limit of 24% of its paid-up capital. Accordingly, no further purchases of shares of this company would be allowed through Stock Exchanges in India on behalf of FIIs/RFPIs.

Trent is part of the Tata Group and is engaged in business of retailing. Trent acquired 76% stake in Landmark, one of the largest books and music retail chains in the India.
